New images added Hobby Master HA38085 F-16BM MLU M-1001, Argentine Air Force, 2025
In 2025, the Argentine Air Force began preparations to introduce the F-16BM Fighting Falcon as part of its long awaited fighter modernization program. The two seat F-16BM variants acquired from Denmark are intended for advanced training, operational conversion, and combat support alongside single seat F-16AM aircraft. Equipped with modern avionics, radar, and NATO compatible systems, the F-16BM represents a major improvement over Argentina’s aging fighter fleet. Pilots and maintenance crews underwent transition training to support the new aircraft. The introduction of the F-16BM significantly enhances Argentina’s air defence and multirole combat capability.
Lockheed F-16BM Fighting Falcon
Designed by General Dynamics as a lightweight, daytime USAF air-combat fighter, the F-16 was first flown on January 20th, 1974. This single-engine, supersonic aircraft has, over the years, evolved into a multirole aircraft. It has a frameless bubble canopy-giving its pilot superior visibility-and it uses advanced aerodynamics. The F-16 was one of the first designs to use a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire system, which helps it pull 9-g maneuvers and achieve speeds of more than Mach 2. Called “Viper” by its pilots, the F-16 is considered one of the most successful aircraft designs of the Cold War, with 4,400+ aircraft built since 1976.
