The Mk3 Escort range was launched in the UK on September 3rd, 1980, and the bold new XR3 appeared within weeks. It was designed as Ford’s entry into the keenly fought hot hatch market and was promoted as having been partially developed by three-time F1 World Champion Jackie Stewart. An appealing mix of performance, style and practicality, it offered supreme value for money and was an immediate sales hit. A revised model, the XR3i, appeared in October 1982 and was developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering department in Essex. It featured Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection in place of the original’s Weber carburettor, stiffer springs and gas-filled Girling dampers which improved the ride and handling.The XR3i modelled was ordered from Ford main dealers RT Rates, Grays, Essex, by local man William Fitzgeorge who specified two extras, a sunroof and tinted windows. It was registered on August 10th, 1983, then serviced regularly by Rates and stored in a dry garage. The first owner kept it for 29 years until it was involved in a small incident in 2012 which damaged the nearside front wing. The lightly damaged car was purchased in November 2012 by Essex-based fast Ford enthusiast Peter Steele who had the damage professionally repaired and returned the car to roadworthy condition in spring 2013. Since then, the car has become well known in the Ford XR Owners Club and been used for classic car events.

Returns

In the event that faulty / broken goods are received or items are missing from your order, Jumblies Models should be notified via email within 30 days after the order date.

Please state if the goods are faulty, damaged or missing.

Jumblies Models will contact you a.s.a.p with instructions on how to return the goods. A replacement will be sent to on receipt of the returned model.

Please note we operate a 30 Days returns policy from date of purchase.

Goods returned for other reasons (eg. wrongs goods ordered or model not liked by the customer) must be received by Jumblies Models in New, Unused condition and with no damages. In order to return goods you must email Jumblies Models within 30 working days from the receipt. The return postage will not be refunded via this return reason. A full refund for model amount shall be refunded on receipt of goods returned.

If you have ordered a Model kit, you have 30 days from date of purchase to advise of any faulty or missing parts. After the 30 days the warranty passes to the Manufacturer.

Pre-order Deposits

Deposits are required for each model that is pre ordered. Deposit amount’s can range from £5.00 - £20.00 depending on the full price of the model.

All deposits received are;

•  Non transferable to other purchases or products
•  Non refundable if you cancel your order
•  Non refundable if you fail to pay the balance of the pre-ordered models within 7 days of receipt of notification.
•  Non refundable if the product is released after any advertised release date (All release dates are subject to change and are estimates at time of announcement)
•  Refundable if we cannot supply you with the product Pre ordered due to an allocation by the manufacturer.
•  Refundable if the product is cancelled by the Manufacturer.
•  Refundable If the product has not been released from 9 months of your Original order date and you wish to cancel. (Please note the 9 Months Cancelation Condition is Void when the model has been released)

When you receive notification of your pre-order coming into stock and you no longer require the product you pre-ordered, please notify us via email or phone within 7 days. Failure to notify us on 3 separate occasions will result in cancellation of all current outstanding pre-orders. We are not obliged to refund the deposits paid on the outstanding pre-orders. Refunds are made at our discretion.
