The Cortina modelled was sold new by Ford dealer Jack Bygraves Ltd, Biggleswade, in August 1982. The first owner paid for the car to be rust proofed by ‘Protectol’ and that may have contributed to its remarkable survival. It was taken off the road in 1997 having covered just 61,605 miles and in 2014 was donated to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance who carried out some recommissioning and entered the car for the Classics on the Crick Auction on Sunday June 11th to raise funds for their vital work.
It achieved £1800 and the winning bidder was William Le Fevre, the managing director of the North Oxford BMW and MINI dealership in Long Hanborough. Le Fevre’s plan was to restore it in the firm’s state-of-the-art bodyshop and then auction it to raise funds for another local charity, Sobell House Hospice. The Bodyshop Team donated their spare time and skills (and nicknamed the car ‘Elvis’ because of its number plate), while the company donated the parts and materials needed to totally restore the car to its original specification.
They achieved a stunning result, and the finished car was featured in Classic Ford Magazine as an example of first-class restoration. The firm’s buyer, Jonathan Martin, then arranged a sale which raised £3,000 for Sobell House. Since February 2020 it has been owned by Essex-based, long-standing Ford enthusiasts Lesley and Andrew Day, who enjoy using it for classic car events.

Returns
In the event that faulty / broken goods are received or items are missing from your order, Jumblies Models should be notified via email within 30 days after the order date.
Please state if the goods are faulty, damaged or missing.
Jumblies Models will contact you a.s.a.p with instructions on how to return the goods. A replacement will be sent to on receipt of the returned model.
Please note we operate a 30 Days returns policy from date of purchase.
Goods returned for other reasons (eg. wrongs goods ordered or model not liked by the customer) must be received by Jumblies Models in New, Unused condition and with no damages. In order to return goods you must email Jumblies Models within 30 working days from the receipt. The return postage will not be refunded via this return reason. A full refund for model amount shall be refunded on receipt of goods returned.
If you have ordered a Model kit, you have 30 days from date of purchase to advise of any faulty or missing parts. After the 30 days the warranty passes to the Manufacturer.
Pre-order Deposits
Deposits are required for each model that is pre ordered. Deposit amount’s can range from £5.00 - £20.00 depending on the full price of the model.

When you receive notification of your pre-order coming into stock and you no longer require the product you pre-ordered, please notify us via email or phone within 7 days. Failure to notify us on 3 separate occasions will result in cancellation of all current outstanding pre-orders. We are not obliged to refund the deposits paid on the outstanding pre-orders. Refunds are made at our discretion.
